The last farmer’s market of the season occurred just a few days before a beloved old friend was coming for a visit. Dinner was planned with his tastes in mind. The menu: deviled duck eggs, beef stew, baked acorn squash, baguette and butter served with an Argentinian Malbec. The duck eggs, beef, squash, onion and potatoes were purchased at the farmer’s market. Carrots were in my fridge. The baguette came from a local bakery and all other ingredients from the grocery. Youngest son joined us and we had a lovely meal and fascinating conversation.
I love deviled eggs. Deviled duck eggs… even better! I’m glad you all had a wonderful evening.:-)

It was! Isn’t this one of our simplest pleasures — sharing food and conversation?
